In Vitro Conservation – a process of conservation of plant that could not be stored in the form of seed such as the various species of orchids, banana, Zingiberaceae, Balsaminaceae, Gesneriaceae, etc. The tissues from the various parts of these plants such as the shoot, buds, leaf, seed, etc. are subjected to tissue culture and conserve by maintaining in the condition of retarded growth and under cold storage
Seed characterization and evaluation is a process of plant germplasm classification through characterization such as morphological characteristics (using plant descriptors), agricultural characteristics, and classification the germplasms using biomolecular techniques as basic information for the plant genetic materials.
